WEEK 5 | PROJECT 52

I was trying to get some pictures of Collin with my new background stand and seamless white paper.  All he wanted to do was play hockey on the sheet of paper.  So since Collin wouldn't cooperate for me threw on some makeup and went to see if he would get behind the camera for me (with the help of the tripod of course).  I am actually happy to have a picture of me that I don't hate.

The 5th and final Christmas

Between blizzards, sickness and work we finally got to have our Christmas with my parents.  The boys have been waiting pretty patiently to see them up until last week.  I can't count how many times Tyler asked how many days until they were coming.  It was kind of nice actually to space out getting the toys instead of all at once.  We had an excellent supper with prime rib, cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole and salad.  On Saturday we had lunch at Happy's and hit Isle Bowl.  The boys had fun bowling since we haven't been there since last winter.  Here are a few pictures of our Christmas.

Here is our family gift that Tyler was pretty excited about.

Tyler was playing so hard that he was getting a side ache and was a little winded.  I guess it is a good way to wear off some of that energy on this cool, cool weekend.  I am surprised how well he does with all the games. Didn't take long to catch on.

WEEK 4 | PROJECT 52

Here is a picture of my Christmas present that I got from my parents this weekend.  No, its not the Mickey or my chair that needs to be painted, its my new background stand and white seamless paper.  I was pretty stoked about it, but no one wanted to try it out with me since they are glued to their new toys and Wii that they got for Christmas this weekend.  Tyler did finially cooperate for 1 min.

IF YOU GIVE A MOOSE A MUFFIN

Today we took a bus trip with our ECFE group to the Stages Theatre in Hopkins for the play about the book "If You Give A Moose A Muffin."  They boys were pretty excited.  Collin didn't really understand what we were doing. He was just going to look for a moose on the way.  When we got on the bus we got a packet with the book and some craft projects.  The roads were pretty slippery this morning, with many cars in the ditch and a few upside down, so I was thankful we made it there just fine.  We packed a lunch and ate it on the bus along the way.

Tyler and Collin's copy of the book.

Collin riding the bus.

Tyler and his buddy Will.  They had fun goofing around and playing cars on the way.

Thought this was cute how they were all sitting squished in their seats.  Tyler said after the play started that he wanted to stay there all night.  He really love it.

We made their moose project after supper and did some coloring pages that we got.

WEEK 3 | PROJECT 52

It's never too early to get your kids to start chores.   I suppose there are some child labor laws out there for this one.  No, I am not making them do this.  I should tho.  Haha!  The boys have been into washing dishes lately.  Unfortunately they think they need to use the sprayer, oh and also fight over the sprayer.   Of course the spray doesn't always make it way into the sink.  So I have done my best to put a stop to use of the sprayer.  I suppose the fun of washing dishes will come to a stop sometime soon.

WEEK 2 | PROJECT 52

Collin is just in that stage.  It has been pretty difficult to get him to take any pictures unless you just take them while he is doing something or running around.  I tried to get him to take some on the railroad bridge with his brother -no, we tried at Thanksgiving and Christmas to get a group picture with his brother and cousins- no again.  Well I guess we did get some picture of him with his Woody doll.  I did manage to get a few of him in his jammies while riding his rocking horse in the porch the other day.  I just need to be sneaky with the little guy.

Little Miss Clara Marie

This little 18 day old peanut belongs to one of my besties.  Clara really wanted to be here for Christmas, instead of after the New Years like she was supposed to.  We was 3 weeks early.  Oh and she wasn't sure if she really wanted her daddy there either.  She wanted to come out so fast that dad barely had time to park the car before she wanted to make her arrival.  I think she just wanted a good birth story.  Clara was just adorable and sort of gave me baby fever for a baby girl.  Then I just remembered how me + pregnancy = not so good, oh and the lack of sleep part too and the baby fever passed.  Here are a few pictures of the little peanut.

Fun with finger painting...

Let me rephrase that.  Too much fun with finger painting.  Most of the time I have a hard time getting Tyler to do a craft project at ECFE, but he will at home.  Maybe this is one of the reasons why?  Tyler was saying he was the Hulk and the Grinch.

It is much more fun to do stuff at home.  Maybe we just don't discipline enough?  It doesn't help that they are just so darn funny and make us laugh.  Hard to lay down the law when you are laughing your butt off.  This is also the reason why Shane doesn't let them paint while he is on duty.

WEEK 1 | PROJECT 52

Well I have decided to take part in the P52 or Project 52, which is 52 photos of 2011.  It is a less daunting task to the over achievers that do Project 365.  I so far have a friend convinced to do this with me and hope a few more will follow this week.  The challenge is on girls.  Well I don't think with two little kids, I would last a month doing P365.   Many people say with P365 that they resort to taking pictures of their slippers or a clock right before bed and call it good.  What fun it that?  lol.

My picture today brings me to the fun the boys had finger painting this afternoon.  They sure had a great time and gave us some good laughs as always.  That is why we are convinced that our kids our naughty because we laugh with them instead of disciplining.  Oh well!  I will blog more about that in a day or two.  Here is my first photo of P52.  What fun it is to be a kid and what fun it is to watch your kids have fun.  One of my joys of life.
