Fall on Pine Street North

I just love our street during the fall. A block over, the neighbors have the best maple trees. They just glow at sunrise and sunset. It is the best place for pictures. So the boys and I took 30 min to get some pictures after supper. Once again it would have only took 10 min if the boys weren't running around like wild animals. Sometime I should just post the bloopers and outtakes of the silly faces, beating each other up, biting, and you name it.

Fall is in the Air....

Well after some rainy and gloomy days, we finally got some beautiful fall days this weekend. It sounds like the rest of the week will be wonderful as well. On Saturday the boys and I took and drive to Kathio State Park to catch the fall colors. I feel fortunate to live so close to a beautiful state park. There is so much to do there all year round. Tyler wanted to see the fire tower, so we took a hike up the trail to it. The boys really wanted to go up the tower, but there is no way I would go by myself up the tower (since I am deathly afraid of heights and out of shape) let alone with those two. I have a feeling Collin would make it up 20 stairs until he would want to be carried and who knows about Tyler. It is pretty sad that we have lived here 9 years and I have never been up there. Maybe by next week I will have a few pictures from the top of the tower. So we made our way around the park and check out our favorite spots. We even hit the playground for a bit too.

Fun weekend in Fargo

Every year my parents take the boys to the Fall Festival at Rheault Farms in Fargo. There is a jumping house, slide, a barrel train, horse and carriage rides, crafts, games, straw bale maze, playground ect. Tyler has a blast. Collin is yet indifferent about it the last few years. I think this year Collin went to bed way too late (10pm) the night before and was up way too early (6am). He had fun on the blow up slide and he went down hill from there. So we didn't spend as much time there this year. We left early and planned to go back after lunch, but that didn't happen.

Of course making cookies is always a favorite. They get to pick 2 candies that they want for toppings and my kids were digging their fingers right into the candy dishes instead of letting the staff scoop them up for them. And of course Tyler said, I want that one, and that one, and that one and that one. You can't take your eyes off those two for a second.

Tyler wanted to pose with every scarecrow in the joint. These is are the couple that turned out the best.
Tyler enjoyed the farm animals too.

Well we finally took crabby pants home and had lunch and tried for a nap. By that time I really just think the kid needed some lunch. He even ate scalloped potatoes and ham. He doesn't eat potatoes, just the ham, but he did this time. He was a whole new kid after lunch. They were bouncing off the walls and wouldn't nap. So we went to Lindenwood Park to run of some steam. That is always Tyler's favorite park in Fargo. I agree with him, it is such a great place. Besides being such a great place to play, picnic, ride bike, ect, it is a great place for pictures. Back in high school I took my senior pictures in some the same places I took their pictures.

We now have a preschooler

Last Friday was Tyler's first day of preschool. He goes 2 times a week for a half a day. I can't believe how big he is getting. It doesn't seem like that long ago we took this little 5lbs boy home from the hospital and now he is starting school. He was so excited to go. He even put his new backpack in the car the day before so he wouldn't forget it. Tyler was so excited that he didn't cooperate too much for pictures. On the first day, an adult was encouraged to go with. It is the same room that he has had ECFE classes in, so it is not a new place to him. Here is one after he was done with his breakfast.

I can't believe I actually got him to participate in a craft. At ECFE I can rarely get him to do that, he just wants to play. He was one of the first ones done, but I am happy that he did what he did. He still had plenty of time for play time. They also went through their ABC's and had story time that allowed them to learn some words.
We even got to go on a bus ride and learn bus safety. He got to see the spot at the elementary school where he meets one of the teachers to get on the bus to go to preschool.

An enjoyable weekend home

We spent our Labor Day weekend at home this year, as I had to work. At first I was feeling a little bummed, since a lot of Shane's side of the family was camping. Well, after I heard the forecast for the weekend, I didn't feel so bad.

I did have Monday off, so we did take the boys to Como Zoo. We had a pretty good time and no major meltdowns. We got there right away when it opened at 10am, so we beat the State Fair traffic, and it wasn't overly busy there either. Tyler said his favorite were the seals and I enjoyed the orangutans. It was too hard to see the new polar bear. There were just too many people there when we walked through it. We did have a few light sprinkles towards the end and managed to get to the car right before the rain came around 3pm. Oh and going north on Hwy 169 was smooth sailing, not like those suckers heading home form the lake driving in traffic. I saw a few complaints on Facebook about the traffic on 169.

I am feeling sort of lost right now. I had brought our laptop in to fix the fan and get a few more gigs put in last week. Hopefully it will be done in a few days. So that means no zoo pics yet. Oh, and also no checking facebook quick (except for my phone), among other things quick internet things. I have do go downstairs to my hubby's office to use the computer. Blah!! I guess I have been getting a little more done around the house tho, which is a good thing. So I better get off the computer now and get a few things done before bed.
