Finally some snow!!!

As much as I said I really liked the unusual winter we have had with no snow, I must admit I like the little bit of snow we got this week.  I guess if it is going to be winter we might as well have some on the ground so we can enjoy some winter activities.  Well the day it snowed Shane promised Tyler that he would pick him up at school on Tuesday and we would go sledding.  So off headed out to Kathio to the sledding hill.  It was so beautiful out there yesterday.  The weather was just perfect and gorgeous at sunset.  I really could have gone for a walk in the woods.  We did see a group of deer on the way in.  Of course as usual they are not scared one bit.  Shane even honked to get them to look up and they wouldn't budge.  I was surprised that someone had already been sledding down the hill.  Collin was all excited to go down the hill the first time, but with the new tube that we got I think if was a little too fast for him.  So he was done after that.  Even tho it was not even an hour we spent there, it was great to get out of the house.  The kids have sort of been wild and maybe a tiny bit of cabin fever set in after that cold spell we had.  It looks like there will be a nice week ahead.  Here are a few photos from our adventure.  Shane is trying to be more proactive getting pictures with me in them.  I am very greatful for that.

Loving this weather

Man I feel spoiled by this weather.  We haven't even put away the summer toys.  It has been nice to kick the boys outside to play in the sandbox, hit the ball around the backyard and ride bike.  At Christmas we even got to play in a pile of leaves out at the farm at grandmas and grandmas.  I am imagining a lot nicer spring clean up in the backyard since I have been able to keep up on the piles of land mines back there.

Great weekend!!

I had a great birthday weekend!  My parents came on Friday and brought me a yummy cake and we went to eat at Happy's and drove around and looked at Christmas lights.  On Saturday my sister and brother in law watched the kids and we went to our first play at the Guthrie.  We went to "Charlie's Aunt."  It was pretty darn funny.  That is one gorgeous building.  Sunday was the big church Christmas program.  Collin was not so much into participating this year.  We also made a ginger bread house today too.  So it was a busy, fun filled weekend.  Now I am realizing how much I have to do this week.  I am going to have to force myself to stay up late each night.  I haven't wrapped one present.

In full swing...

of the Holiday season.  We are just a little over a week into December and I feel like it is flying by already. I wish it would slow down so can make sure I have time to enjoy it.  I am already feeling the rush of it and am starting to panic as I feel I have a lot to do yet.  Well we got the tree up early and partially decorated with the boys.  I hope to do the rest today.

We had our first Elementary Christmas Program last night.  The kids did a really great job.  Tyler is in the top row on the right.  We were up in the bleachers so I don't have any close ups.

Yesterday the kindergartners make ginger bread houses.  Tyler did such a great job.

Silly Faces of Collin

I found Collin making silly faces in this glass ornament candle holder I have sitting on the back of the toilet.    He is so silly

Well the Christmas shows have begun.  The kids are all tucked in watching Rudolph.  Tyler was so excited.

Mohawks

My goal for the next year is to do more creative lifestyle/candid shots of the boys.  Maybe try to take the camera out once a day to capture them being them.  Tonight Collin wanted a hohawk (mohawk) and to look at it in the mirror.

The birthday boy turns 6...

I can't believe we have a 6 year old now.  Tyler had two great birthday parties.  He had a friend birthday party on his actual birthday and his family birthday party up in Thief River Falls.  Well the friend birthday party was on a much simpler scale this year for my sanity anyhow.  Tyler had a great time friends and I must suggest trying a DQ Blizzard cake.  It was much nummier then the regular DQ cake.  Tyler wanted a army themed birthday party this year.  Last month my parents took him to the museum at Camp Ripley and he thought that was pretty darn cool so when he saw the army stuff he wanted that.  Maybe a little had to do with his best friend had the same theme last year.  So we were all decked out with army trinkets, tattoos and pinata.
